Heart, Soul, Mind and “Go.”

Often times, Christians emphasize the "Great Commission" which is definitely a command given by Jesus Christ. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. This is a command that a follower of Jesus who believes in Jesus Christ as the living God and Savior who walked among us should be living out. If you do not know Jesus, we invite you to spend 30 days with Jesus here and read about His ministry here. Receive His free gift of eternal life in Him.

If you have already received Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, how can someone follow the Great Commission without first following “The Great Commandment?” When you walk in love, you walk closer with Jesus Christ. This is the evidence of a walk with Jesus. "Peter, do you love me?" Jesus asked him repeatedly. Then Jesus commands "Peter to feed His sheep." Yet, how will this be done “without” living out The Great Commandment? When one looks for “The Great Commandment” in the Bible within Matthew 22:37-39, they will see Jesus Christ said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” How can a person disciple and invest their life with someone they do not care about? They cannot. Jesus Christ gives His disciples a desire to love Him and love others. Jesus says,By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:35.

The Great Commandment and The Great Commission point toward one. They point toward Jesus Christ. The one who is the begotten Son of God, (God in human form), that died on the cross for the sins of mankind, (sins that lead toward a total separation of God), and He rose up again. He was risen to give us hope and an abundant eternal life in Him. That was love right there. You cannot defeat it. Just receive it and share. Love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. Love your neighbor as yourself. Go, and make disciples.
